Trump extends the withdrawal period from Syria to 4 months

The "New York Times" reported that Trump had talked about that during his recent visit to Iraq and spoke secretly there with General Paul Lacamira, the commander of the military operation against ISIS.

Donald Trump promised to provide several months for US military soldiers to implement the withdrawal from Syria.

Earlier, Donald Trump announced that the withdrawal of his country's troops from Syria was at a low pace, praising his personal role in fight against ISIS

Trump said at Twitter to the widespread criticism which he has received about his decision, which was "his decisions" against the advice of his top advisers and army commanders.

He wrote on his Twitter account on Monday: "Syria was witnessing chaos with the spread of ISIS in its territory when I took power, if anyone did what I have done in Syria, he would get the dub of national hero."

Senior Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said on Monday that US President Donald Trump now knew best that the wages were high in Syria and was reconsidering his plans to quickly withdrawal of the US troops.

"I think we are slowing the pace of things in a smart way," Graham said, who has previously criticized Trump's plans to withdraw US troops from Syria. "Our goal is continue, which is to leave Syria with convincement that ISIS will not come back."

On 19 December, the White House announced that the US had begun withdrawing troops from Syrian territory.
