Battle to defeat terrorism continues ,SDF thwart IS' attacks

The media center of the Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) pointed out that their forces have thwarted IS mercenaries attacks and forced them to retreat, noting that their fighters managed to eliminate 97 mercenaries in addition to the seizure of quantities of weapons and ammunition.

The battle of defeating terrorism launched by SDF continues in the last phase of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign to eliminate IS mercenaries in their last stronghold of Deir ez-Zor.

SDF's media center revealed the number of mercenaries who were eliminated in a statement, the quantity and types of seized weapons ,the text of the statement is:

"The elements of the terrorist organization launched a wide attack on the points of our fighters in Hajin and its surroundings, using all types of heavy and light weapons, and there were strong clashes, in which our fighters killed and wounded a number of them, terrorists bombed our positions with mortars and rockets, but did not cause any damage to our forces.

Our fighters carried out a large combing in areas liberated from the terrorist organization, and found large quantities of weapons and military equipment, as well as the bodies of a number of terrorists killed in the clashes.

Our fighters have made progress on another front of this axis, after long hours of violent clashes with IS terrorists, amid heavy international raids on terrorist positions and fortifications, which caused serious damage to them.

The intermittent clashes continued from time to time, with mortar shells and artillery shelling.

The Final Outcome of Clashes:

- Number of terrorist deaths: 97 / Terrorist.

- Weapons seized by our fighters: RPG launcher (1 ), ground base of Dushka weapon (14.5 mm) number (1 ) - a number of Kalashnikov weapons, large quantity of BKC weapons ammunitions ,Hetra contact devices number 3 , Ammunition box Dushka (12.5) mm2 number (1 ), Dushka ammunition box (14.5 mm2number(1), mortar shells 120mm2 number (8)- mortar shells 82mm2 .

- The terrorist losses: 30 terrorist sites were destroyed, 5 mortar sites were destroyed, a fuel center was destroyed, 3 tankers were destroyed, 3 military roads were destroyed, and 5 factories for manufacturing explosions devices were destroyed.

- The number of strikes by Coalition aircraft: / 49 / air strike.
