'Turkey aims to strike Syria's unity'

Mushlab al-Darwish pointed out that Turkey led by Erdogan aims to strike Syria's unity, stressing that they are resisting beside the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the protection of the region.

The co-chair of al-Raqqa Civil Council Mushlab al-Darwish said during his talks with ANHA agency that Turkey through its statements and the latest threat wants to undermine the will of the people and strike their gains.

At the beginning of his speech, Mushlab al-Darwish condemned the Turkish statements that aim at prolonging the Syrian crisis and re-establishing the Ottoman sultanate and added, "The Syrian north will remain a thorn in Erdogan's throat and others, and we in the Syrian north live within the principle of the peoples' fraternity and stand together with our forces (SDF)."

He added that the Turkish statements are to prolong the life of IS mercenaries in their last stronghold in Hajin area. This is what bothers the Turkish regime in ending its strategic ally in Syria. The concerned countries with the Syrian crisis and the Syrian government must set a serious and firm position towards the Turkish occupation because Syria for the Syrians, and we must stand in one trench in front of the Turkish occupation.

Al-Darwish pointed to the Turkish targets behind its threats to the Syrian north saying, "Turkey's goal is to strike the social and cultural fabric of the Syrian people and co-existence among its components because it considers that as a threat to its interests and expansionist ambitions in the regions of northern Syria, and wants to strike the gains of the Syrian people. Turkey wants to export its internal crisis to the neighboring countries.

The co-chair of al-Raqqa Civil Council Mushlab al-Darwish concluded, "Turkey wants to target the unity of Syria after its occupation of several areas, especially Afrin and the violations that took place; killing, beating, robbing and raping, and we must stand together against anyone who wants to threaten the security of the region."
