'We urgently need to hold the Kurdistan National Congress'

In conjunction with the attacks on the gains of the Kurdish people in all parts of Kurdistan, the voices are rising demanding the convening of a Kurdistan National Congress.

The jurist Abed al-Ader Amo told ANHA news agency on the subject and stressed the necessity of the Kurdish people to unify the ranks and challenge the international conventions that divided Kurdistan.

He said, "Today, in the sensitive phase of the Kurdish people, we urgently need to hold a comprehensive Kurdish national conference that includes all Kurdish parties and figures, and take this historic opportunity which would not be repeated again."

The jurist Abed al-Ader Amo said that the Kurdish National Conference would be the beginning of unifying the Kurdish rank and said, "The Kurdistan National Congress held at this stage an urgent need. This conference will be the beginning to unite the Kurdish people under one roof and with one vote. We must take advantage of the chaos in the Middle East and devote ourselves to the unity."

Amo also spoke about the instructions of the Kurdish leader Ocalan and said that in the 1990s, the leader asked us to hold the National Conference. Therefore, we need the conference first. The lack of our unification means that we are facing an unknown fate, and all the international forces continue to conspire against us and look for opportunities to eliminate us. We are required to move for the conference."

Amo confirmed that international agreements and Kurdish parties prevent the holding of the congress, "The reasons for not holding the congress linked to the international agreements that were held against us and divided Kurdistan, and there are some people who tried by various means to block the National Congress."

At the end of his speech, the jurist Abed al-Ader Amo said that the example of Afrin would be repeated in other regions if the Kurdish people did not unite. "The Turkish regime dared to attack Afrin because of the lack of our unification. If we stood in solidarity, Turkey would not attack Afrin canton. To learn from the experience of Afrin and to not be repeated in other areas, we must hold the Kurdistan National Congress and agree on national interests."
