Falling victim of rumors Afrin is safe, he hardly left after 7 months

Afrin people's canton have been exposed to policy of repression practiced since 9 months by Turkish occupation and its gangs and international society and human rights organization are still silent about these polices.

One of the residents of Afrin fed up from the brutal practice of the Turkish occupation and its gangs, he decided to leave and go to resistance camps in al-Shahba, to keep his family in safe shelter.  

Abedin and family were forced to leave Rajo areas due to intensification of Turkish occupation's attacks and headed towards the center of Afrin city, where they stayed there for 40 days, but as Turkish occupation launched attacks against Afrin center using heavy weapons, headed towards to Nabal and Zahra areas,   where they stayed there for two months.

Arresting his children at the first checkpoint and paying 100,000 SY pounds.

Until the moment Abedin's decision to return to Afrin was not aware of the reality and the reality of the status quo within the canton, and at the first checkpoint encountered, two of his children were arrested by mercenaries and looted 100,000 SY pounds, they forced him to walk with his family and his father whose age exceed 95-year-old until he reached Qurzill village in Sherawa district, They were forced to stay in one of the houses in Afrin. The next day, one of his sons was released for not fulfilling his duty of Self-Defense while the other was detained under pretext that he was a member of the Self-Defense Forces.

Panic, fear hang over the inhabitants of Afrin

Abedin stressed that all the people trapped in Afrin are living in fear and under constant threats from the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries. In many cases, they could not sleep until morning, fearing that their homes would be attacked at any moment.

Abedin was unable to go to his home in Rajo as the mercenaries seized it and turned it into headquarter for a month and a half. After a period of time, the mercenaries came out and he decided to return to the house. The mercenaries then prevented him from entering his house and took him back. Abedin headed towards all the security forces in Afrin, such as the "civil, military and economic police and the headquarters of the Turkish occupation army," but all his attempts were in vain, so he and his wife had to stay with his father in one of his relatives' houses in the area.

25 mercenaries arrested him and turned civilian houses into headquarters

Abedin said that 25 mercenaries arrested him after they stormed his house with two van cars and beating him on the head and closed his mouth until he felt suffocated. He remained in the car for about an hour and had not known where they took him.

Abedin explained that he knew where he was taken after they removed the band from his eyes to find himself in the house of Hanif Samia, who was turned into a security headquarters in Rajo. They began to take pictures of the martyrs to identify them, but he only recognized one of them. He can confess to avoid being taken to an unknown place. "They attacked me brutally and there was the mercenary in charge of the security called Abu Muhammad. I think he is from Damascus. He interrogated me for half an hour. Then I protested that no one was serving my father because he is a disable person. They released me without giving me my ID."

He said that after seven months and through smugglers managed to get out with his family from Afrin after paying $ 900 to ensure that they are not detained at the checkpoints.

Abedin Sheikh Ham is now living with his family in Tal Refat district of al-Shahba canton.
