After Qamishlo, hunger strike tent set up in Çilaxa

Kongra Star and PYD set up on Friday the hunger strike tent in solidarity with the co-chair of the Democratic Society and the parliamentarian in the Democratic Peoples Party in Colêmerg city of Bakur Kurdistan (North Kurdistan) Leyla Guven who has been on hunger strike since November 7, condemning the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan.

The tent of hunger strike was ornamented with Ocalan's pictures and the flags of Kongra Star and PYD. Moreover, the people of Tel Koçer and Çilaxa including Kurds and Arabs joined the hunger strike tent.

He joined the activities of the hunger strike tent under the theme "Let's break the isolation and eliminate fascism in order to live free with Commander Abo" 70 people from the Tal Kogger and Jal Agha districts; With the start of the strike, a statement was read by the administration of the Democratic Union Party in the area of ​​Jal Agha Abdel Salam Abbas, and explained that what the activist Laila Covin was a step to fight the example.

70 people from Tel Koçer and Çilaxa joined the activities of the hunger strike tent that was set up under the slogan "Let's Break the Isolation, Let's Eliminate the Fascism to Live Free with the Leader Ocalan." It is scheduled that the activity of the tent will last for two days. As the hunger strike started, a statement was read by the administrator in PYD in Çilaxa Abdel Salam Abbas, and he made clear that what the struggler Leyla Guven had done is a struggling step could be followed.

Isolation imposed on Ocalan is a result of the elimination and denial policy

Abdel Salam Abbas said that the isolation imposed on leader Ocalan stems mainly from the policy of genocide and denial taken by the Turkish tyrannical regime against the Kurdish people's cause and the issues of democracy, security and stability all over Kurdistan.

Abdel Salam Abbas explained that the isolation, beside that it is not legal and contrary to the most basic human rights laws and the United Nations (UN) charters, it comes in the context of targeting the Kurds and explicit declaration by the Justice and Development Authority and its President Erdogan that the Kurds have no active presence in addition to the insistence to being marginalized without will and applying various policies of abuse and destruction on them."

Abdel Salam noted, "We in PYD and Kongra Star call for Syria's people with all its components to stand together against the practices of the Turkish occupation in the occupied areas, and we call on them to strengthen the joint work, supporting the gains achieved in North and East Syria through the Democratic Autonomous Administration's (DAA) sample that is considered to be the application of the democratic nation's theory described by the leader Abdullah Ocalan."

Abbas noted that the isolation imposed on the leader and philosopher Abdullah Ocalan could not be considered as undermining the Kurdish people only, but to undermine all the peoples of the area, especially Syria's people. Abbas called for various democratic forces in the area and the world to break the isolation on Ocalan.

Abbas made clear that their hunger strike is a massage directed to the International Human Rights Organizations, the International Amnesty, the United Nations, European Union, Islamic Cooperation Organization, the Arab League and all the concerned institutions that it is necessary to prevail peace in the Middle East and Syrian in particular, and take their responsibility rejecting the destructive policies practiced by Turkey in addition to putting pressure on it by making radical amendments on Ocalan's case.  

Turkey would not be able to undermine our will

The administrator in Kongra Star Ihan Morad talked during the hunger strike activity and said, "On behalf of all women who are on hunger strike, we salute our leader in Imrali prison. This leader spread peace and freedom everywhere through his thought and philosophy. We gather here to demand his freedom. We also salute the struggler Leyla Guven for her activities for the sake of the leader's freedom."

Ihan Morad made clear that Ocalan's thought and philosophy spread throughout the world and said, "We salute your struggle for the sake of the peoples' freedom and your democratic philosophy for all the peoples. From here, we say to the Turkish fascist state that it cannot break our will, our struggle is stronger than the isolation and we will resist till our leader's freedom would be achieved."

It is worth mentioning that Kongra Star and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) conducted a similar activity lasted for two successive days in Qamishlo canton. Furthermore, 145 people from the city joined it.
