Asiya Abdullah: struggle for freedom requires us strengthen YPJ ranks

The statement of Asiya Abdullah came as she participated in the Millennium March organized by the women of al-Hasakah canton in al-Jazeera region of northern Syria, on the World Day to Combat Violence against Women.

Thousands of women gathered in Tal Nasri village of Tal Tammer area in al- Hasakah canton. They raised the pictures of martyrs who sacrificed during the revolution of Rojava, the Kurdistan Liberation Movement, Mirabal sisters, drawings of injustice against women, in northern Syria.

As the march reached al-Baladi playground in Tel Nasri, they held a minute of silence, followed by the speech of the administrator in Kongra Star Asia Abdullah, who commemorated the resistance of the free women fighting for freedom. She also appreciated the enormous sacrifices made by women in Rojava against the world terrorism of IS mercenaries.

She pointed to the injustice practiced against women by saying, "Women have suffered much injustice by the masculine mentality and man-dominated authoritarian regimes, this mindset is continuing to this day, especially in Bakur Kurdistan, which committed the most abhorrent massacres against women and humanity."

In turn, the co-chair of al-Hasakah canton, Samar al-Abdullah and the Syriac Manoua Dawoud, emphasized the great role of women during the revolution, which proves its pioneering role in all spheres of life.

The demonstration ended with women chanting slogans that salute women's struggle for freedom.
