Al-Abed: Peoples of area stick to their land, will not allow Turkey to occupy it

The co-chair of Girê Spî canton's council Hamid Al-Abed said in a statement to Hawar news agency commenting on the Turkish threats against the northern areas of Syria that the Turkish attacks and intentions are denounced, stressing their adherence to their land in the face of the Turkish occupation.

Over the past two weeks, the Turkish occupation army has targeted areas in Kobanî and Girê Spî districts in addition to targeting villages in the al-Jazeera region. The attacks resulted in martyring the six-year-old child Sara Refat Mostafa by a sniper while she was returning from her school in Tel Fender village, west of Tel Abyed.

The attacks carried out by the Turkish occupation with live bullets, tanks and artillery shells resulted in inflicting material damage to the civilians' properties, and martyring two fighters in the ranks of the Self-Defense Forces, one of them from Kobanî and the other from Girê Spî.

The attacks coincided with statements made by Turkish President Recep Teyyip Erdogan threatening to launch a military operation on east of the Euphrates.

Hamid al-Abed said, "We, the people of northern and eastern Syria, will defend our land, our and our honor. There is no justification for the Turkish occupation to enter our area. Erdogan is the father of IS."

Any international law allows killing the children as Turkey did against the innocent girl, Sarah Rifat who is 6 years old. Erdogan, through this policy, wants to kill children, adults and the elderly, and this is considered as a message that no one can live in North Syria.

"Outside Syria, when anybody is killed or explosions take place, the countries and organizations denounce, but unfortunately, here in northern and eastern Syria, there is no movement towards the violations and killing operations that took place against the people and the children," he said.

Hamid al-Abed noted that what is happening in Idlib and Jarabulus of ethnic cleansing, displacement, demographic change and looting is as an example of the international silence.

Al-Abed added, "Where is the role of the Syrian government towards the ongoing violations against the Syrian land. When they say Afrin, as if it is not a Syrian land, but Turkish."

Al-Abed stressed that the peoples of the area such as the Kurds, Arabs, Armenians, Turkmens and Assyrians would not accept the violation and occupation of their land in any way. He regretted for those who are helping Turkey to occupy their country while they are proud of that.

"As Syrian citizens, do you accept the occupation of your country? Do you accept the shame while you are fighting with the weapons of the Turkish government? Do you accept the desecration of our land? If you accept this, we will not accept and will not accept that our territory would be violated by the Turkish occupation," al-Abed directed his speech to them.
