Al-Mushref: No student deprived of education to remain this year

Rajab al-Mushref, the co-chair of the Education Body in the north and east of Syria, revealed during statements to Hawar news agency the priorities of their work to promote the educational reality in the area and the damage inflicted to it during the last seven years of battle.

Al-Mushref, who took over his job with the formation of the new administration for the areas of North and East Syria, noted that the Commission has secured sufficient school copies for all pupils in northern and eastern Syria, and will distribute copies to that areas that need additional quantities.

Al-Mushref said that the Body is working now through its workshops to renovate 15,000 school seats, and manufacturing them will continue to meet the needs of all schools and they will be distributed to the most needy schools in al-Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor and al-Tabqa.

Al-Mushref pointed out that there are schools that have been subjected to sabotage acts. Many of which have been restored, and 15 schools are being rehabilitated among them 7 in Raqqa, 2 in al-Tabqa and 6 in Deir ez-Zor in order to receive all the students, especially after the return of many families to their cities after stability and safety have been witnessed there.

The co-chair of the Education Body praised the efforts made by the Education Committee in Deir ez-Zor to open the schools in the newly liberated places so that the students will not miss the current school year.

Rajab al-Mushref promised at the end of his speech the citizens of the north and east of Syria that this year, no student will remain deprived of the right of education.

The educational institutions in the north and east of Syria are making tremendous efforts to restore the spirit of the educational system which has been absent from many areas during the rule of IS and the other armed gangs preceded IS.

In al-Tabqa and al-Raqqa cities, the schools have opened a few months after their liberation. In Deir ez-Zor, efforts are ongoing to open schools in the newly liberated areas.
