1989 was initial point towards struggle

The citizen Omer Mohammed from al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city is at 54. Omer Mohammed's struggle started in Rojava and Aleppo since his first meeting with the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Omer met the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan in 1989 in al-Jamiliya neighborhood in Aleppo and in 1991 in Lebanon.

Omer said that the meeting included discussions that provided him with high morale and added, "The high morale emerged within Rojava Revolution. The leader focused on the protection as the Kurdish people were being targeted frequently at that time."

Omer pointed out that Ocalan, during the meeting that he held for them, pointed out that the individual must always be ready to organize themselves in the society and take the responsibilities. He continued, "The leader used to say that the individual must put his goal forward and work to reach it. The leader always referred to the importance of the self-protection."

Omer added that the leader also focused on the importance to return to the Kurdish traditions and customs and the achievements made by the Kurdish people.

In a matter concerns Rojava, Omer said that Ocalan, during his coming to Rojava, noticed that the Kurdish people are thirsty for freedom. The leader said to us that Rojava people are awaiting for a shining future and with their struggle, they would step great steps to reach their objective," and this is what we see today.

The Kurdish people leader mentioned in his writings after he has been arrested that events would held in the Middle East. When we go back to the writings, we see that what is ongoing in the Middle East was mentioned in Ocalan's writings.

Commenting on this, Omer Mohammed said that Ocalan touched upon events that would be held in the Middle East in the future and he added, "He said that not only the Kurdish people are oppressed, but all the peoples of the Middle East."

In the end of his speech, Omer Mohammed said that the meeting with Ocalan involved discussions that provided him with morale and that the morale is emerged now in Rojava Revolution.

Perwin Agid, the daughter of Omer martyred in the Century Resistance that took place in Kobani canton against IS mercenaries in 2014 – 2015, while his son Agid Jia martyred in the Resistance of the Age that took place in Afrin canton in the current year.
