Al-Rekban camp, south Syria is awaiting for receiving humanitarian aid today

The United Nations decided to set Saturday a new date for the arrival of the humanitarian aid to al-Rekban camp south of Syria as both Russia and the United States exchange accusations of delaying its access to the camp.

The head of the Civil Affairs Office in the camp of the south of Syria, Abdullah al-Aqaba, said that the United Nations informed them of the arrival of aid today, after sending a convoy to the camp adjacent to the US base of al-Tanaf was postponed last Friday.

Since October 4, the Syrian regime has imposed a siege on the camp and prevented the entry of foodstuffs and medical supplies into the camp amid appeals from its administration for the delivery of aid to more than 50,000 people living bad humanitarian conditions that led to killing more than 12 people, including children.

The US Central Command accused Russia of refusing to support sending international humanitarian aid to the Syrian refugees' camp in al-Rekban. "Russia has again refused to support the delivery of international humanitarian aid to the refugees' camp in al-Rekban despite the security assurances provided by the United States," the US Central Command's representative Bein Orban said in a statement.

The spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, the Major General Igor Konashinkov said that the process of delivering the aid which was planned for on the 27th of that last month was failed because of the risk of an attack on the area controlled by the US forces.

He said, "The humanitarian disaster in the Syrian region of al-Tanaf is supplied by the American side deliberately in order to keep it a constant source of recruiting the refugees in al-Rekban and join them in the ranks of the fighters controlled by the United States."
