Dêrik youth call for demos against Turkish occupation

At the invitation of the Young Women's Movement, the people of Dêrik of the Young Women's Union members, Rojava Youth Union and representatives of civil society organizations gathered in the Martyrs Square in the city to denounce attacks by the Turkish occupation against northern Syria.

During the gathering, a statement was read on behalf of the youth by the administrator of Young Women's Union, Sara Judy, in which she said:

"The regional and international occupation led by the Turkish occupation supports the terrorist gangs in northern and eastern Syria, and reinforced them financially and militarily, and after the Turkish occupation realized that IS elimination was imminent, it carried out the attacks on Kobanî and Girê Spî as a support to raise the morale of terrorist gangs.

The statement said, "We will not allow any occupier to occupy our land, culture, history and identity, so we will step up our struggle to preserve these values." The statement added that the aim of the Turkish occupation of the attacks is the return of massacres committed in Afrin and its implementation in Kobanî and Girê Spî.

The youth promised in their statement to protect the north and east of Syria "and the resistance against the occupier at any cost, and we will not surrender to any occupier to impose its identity on us."

Moreover, the rally ended amid chanting the slogans which denounced the Turkish occupation.
