Rojda Felat: by women's leadership, historic victory achieved in al-Raqqa

Rojda said that al-Raqqa liberation campaign of IS came after extensive preparations by SDF and YPJ, as the campaign was aimed at retaliation for the Yazidi women who were kidnapped in Şengal and liberating them.

"We avenged the people who were enslaved by IS"

Rojda said ,"our goal was to eliminate IS mercenaries who had taken al-Raqqa as the capital of their alleged caliphate, certainly, most of the mercenary practices that have been kidnapped and killed were against women, so we, as YPJ, our priorities were to liberate the women."

Not only in al-Raqqa, but everywhere the woman played a pioneer role

Rojda noted, We joined the campaign to eliminate IS in northern Syria. We achieved this goal, perhaps we could not free all the women, because the mercenaries had sold them elsewhere, but as far as possible we were able to revenge for them,the mercenaries turned the women into slaves and practiced the most awful immoral practices of selling and buying, not only in al-Raqqa but in Manbij and to Deir ez-Zor the woman plays a leading role, and this is the result of the union of women against mercenaries."

"We draw our strength from our martyrs"

Rojda pointed out that the struggle of women in northern Syria is derived from the strength of women fighters who fight for their freedom and have reached the rank of martyrdom in this way, and pointed out that they derive their strength from the martyrs, adding, "We fought in al-Raqqa by the thought of martyrs and the thought of free women, this is the reason for the victory of the women in al-Raqqa, many fighters such as Arin , Barin, Arshin and Kojarin, and now we are fighting with their strength in Deir ez-Zor ."

"Women tuzrned into human shields"

Rojda Felat said ,"In Kobanî and all the other regions, women fought as commanders, perhaps the media did not focus on them and show their role. We are stepping up our struggle with the power of Revan and Kojarin, and we continue on their inheritance and did not surrender to the mercenaries , we joined al-Raqqa campaign in great resistance, and our resistance continues."

"Habun turned into the symbol of Arab women"

Rojda Flat, pointed out that Kurdish women are not the only ones who fought against IS. Arab women also played an important role. She said at the end of her speech: "The important aspects of the campaign are the participation of Arab women in al-Tabqa, al-Raqqa and Manbij and joined the rank of martyrdom like the fighter Habun who turned to a symbol of Arab women, it is great victory for us as women ."
