With the harvest of olive harvest this year, owners of olive presses in Kobani canton in the Euphrates region announced their readiness to receive the olive harvest.

There are 3 presses in Kobani canton, one in Zerafek village, south of Kobani city, the second in Korbinkar village, southeast of the city, and another in Serin district

The owner of the olive press Khalid Haido, who is preparing to receive the fourth season of olives in his press, said that the olive season is considered good this year, according to what he saw, pointing out that the production of olive oil would be good if the rain fell before harvesting.

This year, two new Kobani presses have been established, Korpinkar and Serin presses, which will come into operation as farmers begin harvesting olives.

In the Euphrates region (Kobani and Tal Abiyad cantons) there are only 3 olive presses in Kobani, where olive trees are abundant.

Khaled Haido, the owner of Zrafek press, prepared to receive the olive harvest. He said that the price of this year is not different from last year, which is 15 pounds per kilo of olives.

He said "We have a press in Manbij city in the name of Sulaiman Press, which we have been established since allmost 12 years and now it is receiving the olive corp. In response to the desire of the farmers of Kobani canton, we came to Kobani city and have established the new press. "

"We have prepared the press this year with new mechanisms and will work in two ways to meet the farmers' needs and shorten the distance without transferring the olive crop to Manbij city," he said.

He explained that they had the first experiment in the press and was successful, and they are ready to receive the olive harvest at a nominal price suitable for the farmer and the owner of the press.

It is scheduled that the olive farmers in Kobani canton will start the olive harvest in early November, a few weeks from now.

There are thousands of olive trees in Kobani's countryside. The area is known as an agricultural area and includes many varieties of trees, most notably olive and pistachios, which the residents depend on for their annual sustenance
