“Reactionary mentality of regime and opposition destroyed Syria”

The co-chair of PYD Aisha Hesso’s speech came during the party's meeting that was held for the families of the martyrs in Tirbê Spîyê district of Qamişlo canton.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence. After which, Aisha Hesso talked about the latest political developments locally and internationally. She pointed out that the colonial countries made Syria the scene of their wars at the expense of the blood of the Syrian people.

Aisha Hesso held the regime and the opposition the responsibility of the destruction of Syria as each of them are adhere to the reactionary and exclusionary mentality which is autocracy once again. The opposition did not take a project that would meet the aspirations of the Syrian people and it was and still linked to foreign agendas. It also aspired to reach the authority, but at the expense of Syria’s destruction.”

Regarding Turkey's occupation of the Syrian territories, Aisha said that the Turkish state plays a negative role in the Syrian crisis by supporting terrorism and standing against the aspirations of the peoples of the area in addition to undermining their freedom and legitimate rights.

At the end of her speech, Aisha called on the Syrian regime to clarify its attitude towards the Turkish occupation in Syria. Aisha add, “The regime declares that it reject the Turkish occupation of the Syrian territories, but it still binds itself with Turkey to the items of Adana Agreement. If the regime is serious about its attitude that rejects the Turkish occupation of its lands, it must cancel the agreements with the Turkish state and seriously seeks to take it out from Syria.”

The meeting of PYD is part of the campaign of reorganizing the party, especially after the Martyrs’ Families Council announced during its conference that all the families of the martyrs are members of PYD.
