Syriac Union: Our martyrs are as birth of freedom

The Syriac Union Party released on Wednesday a statement to the public opinion, in which it commemorated the martyrs of the Beth Nahrin National Council.

The statement included,

 “Before the great sacrifices made by our martyrs and on this day that marks the anniversary of the martyrs of the Beth Nahrin National Council, we bow down to their pure souls which were a sacrifice and a price for the cause of our Syriac people and to achieve its goals and demands.

Their sacrifices also came in order to protect our land and homeland from the desecration of the terrorists, the enemies of humanity and the obsolete Chauvinist regimes, and their blood that watered the ground was for the birth of a new dawn for the whole people to live freely and safely.

For all these lofty humanitarian principles which they took on, their sacrifices were the light that enlightened the way for reaching the demands, the rights and the desired future. All the sacrifices of our Syriac people give hope that this people with this will, strength and determination must gain their rights.

We, in the Syriac Union Party and on this precious occasion, renew our pledge to follow the footsteps of our martyrs and stress that it is important to continue the struggle.

In Syria, we are passing through an important phase that requires more struggle to secure the rights of our Syriac people and all the Syrian components and to reach a pluralistic, secular and de-centralized Syria. This would be achieved through the solidarity of all the Syrian democratic forces that are keen to build their homeland on strong and civilized foundations.

It is worth mentioning that the Assyrian, Syriac and Chaldean Martyrs’ Families Institution in al-Hasakah would organize a commemorating ceremony for the Syriac martyrs at the Syriac Martyrs Shrine on Wednesday.”
