Continuing work to bring students back after years of disruption

The organization of Inmaa Firat, in coordination with the Education Committee and the Civil Council of al-Raqqa city, opened the Nesma Amal Center to teach children who cannot read or write at the beginning of this month.

The Center receives illiterate children from 9 to 16 years old, and 1000 students have been registered so far, since the middle of last July, the center has been working since the beginning of this month.

In the beginning, the administration worked to sort out the children at 4 levels within the center according to the level of reading and writing, all of whom were children of al-Raqqa.

The duration of the literacy course at the center is 3 months, after the students receive writing and reading lessons, they are screened according to their level and age to the study seats in coordination with the Education Committee, the training also includes lessons such as music, drawing and sports.

The administrator of Nesma Amal center Adnan Hasani told ANHA agency, "We have screened children at levels and lessons." Literacy is a four-level therapeutic stage, our aim is to get rid of illiteracy.” 

It is noteworthy that during the occupation of the mercenary gangs of al-Raqqa and the latest IS mercenaries, the educational sector has witnessed a significant decline, especially among children.
