Unique project for youth development

The Sports and Youth Committee of Amouda District Council, in cooperation with the Youth Development Center in al-Jazeera region, initiated a vocational training project aimed at developing the capacities of young men and women in the district to be active actors within the community and contribute to the advancement of social and economic realities and reducing unemployment.

The project of the Sports and Youth Committee includes several professions and trades in everyday life such as blacksmithing, plumbing, electronics, computer, sewing and drawing skills, each trainee undergoes a training course of not less than 3 months at the Youth Development Center in Amouda district. In the first month, the training is theoretical, but in the other two months the training will be practical for the chosen profession.

The Youth and Sports Body in al-Jazeera region supervises on the professional training courses, in addition to organizing workshops in coordination with experts, professionals and craftsmen within the above-mentioned competencies, the trainee is subject to field work.

Identify the trainee abilities

After the trainee undergoes a training course on the chosen profession, the expert or the professional will determine the ability of the trainee to assume his / her responsibility in the field of his / her chosen profession, then the name will then be submitted to the Youth and Sports Body in coordination with the Youth Development Center, the tools of the work will be prepared according to his profession to start work directly. If the trainee has not reached the stage of responsibility, he will do a second course.

Since its opening on November 1, 2017, the Youth Development Center in Amouda has completed three courses. The Center has started its fourth cycle last week, and 25 young men and women have joined the course and are required to be between the ages of 18 and 24.

The aim of the project is to develop crafts and professions among young people

The Youth and Sports Committee of the Amouda District Council aims at reducing the incidence of unemployment in the regions, developing the capacities of young men and women, developing them in the field of work, taking responsibility and developing the region in all fields to be locally produced.

Jiyan Asad the administrator of the Sports and Youth Committee of Amouda District Council has indicated that dozens of young men and women have applied for training courses offered by al-Jazeera Youth and Sports Body in al-Jazeera region.

Kawa Ibrahim, the Co-chair of the Youth Development Center in Amouda district, explained that so far 3 batches of trainees have graduated, as well as five vocational centers within the Development Center, which are sewing, metalwork, plumbing, health, electronic and computer courses.
