Outcome of SDF operations in “Battle to defeat terrorism”

This came in a statement issued by the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces on the outcome of the ongoing battles within the battle to defeat terrorism in the past 24 hours. The statement said:

"Al-Baghouz Fawkani: The clashes have continued face-to-face on this axis since Saturday night, and the mercenaries have tried to advance on the points that our forces had liberated, however, their attempts failed.

The mercenaries used motorcycles in this attack, and used heavy artillery shelling, in these clashes a number of mercenaries were killed and two of our fighters were wounded, where the clashes are still ongoing until the moment of preparation of the outcome.

In the early morning hours of this day until the sunrise - where the clashes are still ongoing until the moment of preparation of the report - our forces advanced and managed to liberate 4 vital points inside the village and secure it. Later, our forces advanced on the main road in the village. The engineering teams were able to deal with a mine was planted by the mercenaries on the street, and thus the battles have moved into the village of al-Bagouz Fawkani.

Al-Sousse axis: Our forces have advanced on this axis amid fierce clashes with the mercenaries, and since Saturday evening our forces completed their operations, and clashed with them face to face and the field leadership confirmed the killing of 4 mercenaries, in general battles in this axis were characterized by hit and run, control points, withdrawal for military necessity and violent clashes accompanied by heavy artillery shelling by the mercenaries, as well as the intensity of landmines and sniping operations.

Yesterday evening, as a result of the fierce fighting, two of our fighters rose to the rank of martyrdom in this axis, and two others were injured. The clashes continued from the first morning hours of Sunday until the sunrise, which continues until the moment of preparation of the outcome, and our forces achieved significant progress on this axis and freed one of the points of the grip of mercenaries. The mercenaries used mines and explosive belts, one of which blew himself up in his belt and was accompanied by artillery shelling, and the outcome of these confrontations is the killing of 8 mercenaries, while a number of our fighters were injured.

The International Alliance’s Air Force carried out three sorties and targeted mercenaries, as well as five rocket attacks targeting their fortifications.

In combat operations within 24 hours, the field command confirmed the killing of 14 mercenaries, while two of our fighters rose to the rank of martyrdom in addition to a number of wounded. "
