SDF liberated 3 km2 within battle of defeating terrorism

The media center of SDF issued a statement, revealing the outcomes of the battles that have been ongoing since Wednesday until Thursday within the battle of defeating terrorism in Deir ez-Zor countryside. The statement included,

“1. Baguz Foqani axis: The terrorist organization launched a counter-attack and restored some of the points that our forces have liberated in the previous two days. On Wednesday, our forces attacked again, achieved an advance of 1 km and recovered the points that the terrorist organization had taken over. It has been confirmed that 9 mercenaries’ points have been liberated.

In this axis, 3 mines exploded, inflicting damage to one of the minesweeping bulldozers and a Hummer vehicle, while the third one blasted at a vehicle for transporting the soldiers that led to injuring 10 of our fighters as some of them are seriously wounded.

On this axis, the field commander of our forces confirmed the killing of 23 mercenaries, one of them was killed by a sniper near Baguz, while 20 mercenaries were killed near Baguz in the afternoon and two others were killed in the evening.

2. On a parallel axis on the front of Baguz, the terrorists launched a counter-attack, recapturing some of the points that our forces had already liberated, while our forces attacked again, made a 1 kilometer advance and liberated 7 points.

The total area that has been liberated so far is 3 km2.

3. The Coalition Forces participated actively in the combat operations on Wednesday as the aircraft targeted the mercenaries’ movements, while the military bases carried out rocket attacks and targeted the mercenaries’ positions, while the artillery fired fixed targets.
