The People's Municipality is working to grant licenses to the people of destroyed buildings and houses in al-Raqqa, the number of buildings that are being reconstructed at the expense of the residents is 34 buildings and 7 buildings under license by the People's Municipality in al-Raqqa.

The mechanism of building's permit in al-Raqqa city

The owners of the demolished buildings apply to the People's Municipality for a building permit by submitting documents proving the ownership of the building, which will be reconstructed at the expense of the residents, in addition to specifying the area of ​​the building, without any financial fees inside the city.

Al-Raqqa is back again

Is the slogan of most of the people of al-Raqqa who returned immediately after its liberation by the Syrian Democratic Forces in 2017/10/20 after which it had lost a lot of houses and buildings, the streets of the city were full of rubble, now all the streets in al-Raqqa are clean and completely free of rubble, and the traffic in al-Raqqa is easier than it was at the beginning of the return of the people.

The number of families returning to the city is estimated at 180,000, and at all times the city center and markets are crowded and all the markets in the city center are working as well as before.

The Co-chair of the Technical Office in the People's Municipality in al-Raqqa Muhammad al-Bakri said: "We cooperate with the owners of the buildings and grant them licenses for reconstruction and we make field trips with the parents to make sure the ownership of the house and its area and all the fees we take on the destroyed buildings are free.

Al-Bakri stressed that the purpose of the licenses is not the physical value but to follow the engineering work with the engineering controls known to achieve engineering safety so that the buildings are not random and to put plans to be built by the engineers.

Al-Bakri mentioned some of the problems facing them. He said: "It is difficult to collect all the owners of the building where the building is owned by more than 10 people. In this regard, a committee was formed by the Civil Council to resolve the disputes that occur among the residents, so the building licenses were given to the owners completely so the undertakers will be the responsible of the problems that arise after giving the licenses. "

It is worth mentioning that the People's Municipality, which was opened in 10/3/2018 and has been operating since then in the service of the people of al-Raqqa and the Technical Office still receives the owners of the destroyed buildings to provide licenses and engineering-related advice to them.
