Russian-Turkish-Iranian meeting to discuss fate of Idlib

Iranian president Hassan Rowhani, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet in Tehran on Friday, just hours before another meeting on the UN Security Council about  Syria's state was called for by the United States.

The three presidents will hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.

The meeting will focus on the situation in Syria, especially in Idlib, as Turkey, Russia and Iran are partners in Syria, which gather periodically at various levels to discuss their interests and agendas in Syria.

The regime has been preparing for weeks to start a military operation in Idlib, which is controlled by Turkish mercenary gangs, including Jabhat Tahrir al-Sham, where Turkey is trying to find a solution to the problem of Jabhat al-Nasra which it supported for seven years.

Observers believe that the position of Turkey to put Jabhat al-Nasra in the list of terrorism at this time is to raise suspicions about itself in terms of dealing with al-Qaeda.

The United Nations and America fear a humanitarian disaster in Idlib if attacked, while France warned yesterday to carry out strikes on the targets of the Syrian regime if it used chemical weapons.
