Weapons’ smuggling operation foiled, perpetrators arrested

The Forces of the Roads Security and the Organized Anti-Crime of the Internal Security Forces in Girê Spî / Tal Abyad canton arrested during a tour of Washokani Ijlab checkpoint in Girê Spî five smugglers of illegal materials and confiscated what they had in their pockets.

The Roads Security Forces and the Organized Crime of the Internal Security Forces doubted a vehicle loaded with blue plastic barrels that were tightly closed, while it was passing though the checkpoint, through accurate inspection and the experience acquired by the members. One of the barrels was selected and checked and twelve barrels packed with Jeft bullets were found.

According to an official of the Office for Combating Organized Crime, five smugglers were arrested on charges of smuggling banned materials and 12 barrels of blue plastic type that were loaded with Jeft bullets were confiscated.

They have been extradited to the Prosecution and Investigation Commission to complete the legal procedures according to the official website of the Internal Security Forces.
