Intellectuals: forgetting Afrin is denial of Kurdish people's existence

The third conference of al-Jazeera Intellectuals Union was launched today at the Mohammed Sheikho Center for Culture and Art in Qamishlo city, under the slogan "With Free Thought And Bright Minds We Will Strengthen The Resistance of Afrin." In the presence of 160 delegates.

After the speeches were delivered, 5 members were elected to manage the conference. The annual report of al-Jazeera Intellectuals Union which included the most prominent work of the union during the past year, was read. Following the reading of the annual report, delegates were invited to express their views and proposals.

The views and proposals focused on the weakness of relations between the community and intellectuals, especially among the components of the region and the participation of their views, and the lack of seminars and lectures in the newly liberated areas for the intellectual mentality left behind by IS mercenaries.

The delegates criticized the lack of opening centers of al-Jazeera Intellectuals Union in the newly liberated areas by the Syrian Democratic Forces, because the intellectuals who run the community and guide them, and strengthen ties of social relations with civil institutions.

Delegates noted the need to communicate with intellectuals within Rojava areas and the Syrian north, and then communicate with intellectuals abroad.

The third conference of al-Jazeera Intellectuals Union continues, and delegates are now proposing their proposals for next year.
