The Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries attacked Afrin canton in January 20 using the fiercest kinds of weapons. Afrin people resisted these attacks beside the People Protection Units (YPG) and Women Protection Units (YPJ) till they displaced their homes by force after a resistance lasted for 58 days.

After Afrin people displaced towards al-Shahba canton, Kongra Star launched in February 2 “Women, revolt for Afrin” campaign to provide the women who left their homes with psychological support.

The campaign included many activities, including the denouncing statements against the Turkish occupation. Meetings were held with the concerned parties and organizations to Human Rights, and during these meetings, the Turkish occupation’s violations against the people, especially the women were documented.

Several women’s delegations came from abroad, including Belgium, Germany, England, Switzerland, France, Italy, Canada and Lebanon and expressed their standing in solidarity with Afrin residents who are living in al-Shahba. The visiting delegations condemned the practices of the Turkish occupation, and stressed that they will deliver what they have seen to the public opinion and world public opinion.

In this context, Hawar news agency interviewed the administrator in the Diplomatic Relations Committee in Kongra Star Feryal Hassen who noted that they provided the psychological and moral support to the resistant people against the Turkish occupation.

Feryal Hassen pointed out that the Turkish occupation’s practices against the people in Afrin were refused by the delegations that visited the residents and considered their situations closely and said, “The delegations that visited the people promised that they will work on delivering what they have seen to the public and global opinion.”

The administrator in the Diplomatic Relations Committee in Kongra Star Feryal Hassen assured that they will continue this campaign till Afrin would be liberated from the Turkish occupation.
