Crashed roads are dangerous to pedestrians, municipality considers a solution

The heavy rains witnessed in the area in the late spring crashed parts of the road between Tel Koçer and al-Hol in four places, some parts of which were damaged to 433 m. The important road that connects the eastern part of al-Jazeera region in the western area puts the drivers and pedestrians at risk.

The citizens who used to walk on the road appealed to the municipalities to solve this problem as the road has been narrow and could not accommodate two cars.

The driver Ibrahim al-Hamza said that the road forms a danger to the cars and their lives, noting that it cannot accommodate two cars, and continued, “A few days ago, two speeding cars met each other so that one of them had to get out of the path of the road.”

Al-Hamza called for the concerned sides to consider the road’s situation and find a solution to avoid the risk to the drivers.

Mwafaq Saleh al-Khalaf from Khweitala al-Desho village said that some drivers do not notice the destroyed parts of the road, causing great dangerous to their life. Mwafaq Saleh al-Khalaf continued, “The road must be repaired as soon as possible.”

The co-chair of the people’s municipality in Tel Hamis district in Qamişlo canton Abdel Rahman al-Hadi said that they conducted tours to determine the damaged places, noting that the road needs putting drains under it to relieve the pressure on it in case floods would be occurred. 

Al-Hadi pointed out that they will consider a project to rehabilitate the road in the near future.
