Asayiş Forces arrested a monuments’ smuggler in Tirbê Spiyê

Rojava Asayiş Forces arrested a monuments’ smuggler in the countryside of Tirbê Spiyê town in Qamishlo canton, and confiscated a number of antiquities were in his pocket.

The media center of Rojava Asayiş Forces issued a statement on its official website in this regard, in which it said,

"On August 28, our forces arrested a monuments’ smuggler in Tirbê Spiyê town after receiving a report that stated that a person is smuggling antiques from the countryside of the town out of the area's borders.

The members of Combating Organized Crime Office, in coordination with the competent authorities in Asayiş investigated and verified the information received and monitored the movements of the smuggler.

Based on the evidence collected, a patrol was formed and it raided the house of the smuggler and arrested him, where he had a number of antiquities among them what go back to the Roman and Byzantine times in his pocket.

While he was transferred to the Commission of Prosecution and Investigation to receive a fair penalty according to the law."
