Akef: TEV-DEM to witness serious changes in 3rd conference

Hawar news agency met with the spokesman of the Diplomatic Relations Center of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) Kemal Akef to talk about the third conference of TEV-DEM that is scheduled to be held on Monday.

Akef said that TEV-DEM was founded on the basis of organizing the community and establishing a democratic and moral society. After 2011 and after the changes that took place throughout the Syrian regions, TEV-DEM played an important role at all political, social and economic levels."

Akef said that since its establishment, TEV-DEM has not been one of the parties that works for power, but on the contrary, it worked on training the society as it opened many academies, through which the project of TEV-DEM has become one of the important and qualitative projects inside Syria.

Kemal Akef stressed that the institutions and councils in which TEV-DEM has taken part have played an important role in Syria. He added, "Through TEV-DEM, they have gained experience in order to manage themselves, and on this basis, TEV-DEM will change its role according to the developments witnessed in the area after 2018."

Akef noted that TEV-DEM will continue its work in the northern areas of Syria and will play a role in solving the Syrian crisis and within the civil institutions, so the conference will be held in response to developments witnessed in the area.

Akef explained, "The third conference of TEV-DEM will work on conducting serious changes in terms of electing a new joint presidency and its committees."

As for the delegations that would participate in the 3rd conference of TEV-DEM, Akef said that all the councils of the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD), the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA), the political parties and the political figures will participate in the conference.
