From tank out of service to collecting heritage pieces

The Women's office of the People's Municipality in Tirbespiyê   district in Qamishlo canton, in cooperation with the Information Office of the Municipality, is converting the French reservoir, which was built during the French mandate to Syria by the French, after it became out of service, to a garden and an exhibition of photographs of Tirbespiyê district's martyrs and its affiliated villages.

The restoration of the tank floor and the painting of its walls, the straightening the reservoir garden’s ground with soil to planting of trees and roses, and restoration and decoration of the tank ladder between the upper and lower floors of the reservoir, were initiated as a destination for the people in the summer.

Administrator in the Women's office in the People 's Municipality in Tirbespiyê district Afifa Suleiman, explained that the restoration and conversion of the reservoir and what around it to the garden was among several projects for women in the district .

Afifah Soliman explained that the women's office has rehabilitated its garden, planting trees and flowers inside it, designing a fountain for water, in addition to allocating a corner for children's games.

Work on the project was temporarily suspended because there was not enough budget to consummate it. The administrator in the women's office, Afifa Suleiman, confirmed that the office would seek to complete the project as soon as possible.

The reservoir was to supply the people of the district with drinking water, and with the passage of time and after the establishment and extension of water networks in the district , became out of service.
