Education Office in MSD adopted new rules of procedure for schools

The meeting, which was held on Saturday at the headquarters of the Syrian Democratic Council in Ain Issa, was attended by the co-chairs of the Education Office in the council Rajab al-Mushref and Nisreen Deku and representatives of the education offices and committees in the cities of al-Tabqa, Deir ez-Zor Manbij and al-Raqqa.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence. It was followed by reading the draft of the new rules of procedure for schools. The area was opened to listen to the views and proposals of the participants on the new rules of procedure and to be answered by the committee that oversaw the preparation of the rules of procedure.

All the items presented in the rules of procedure were ratified by the participants.

The rules of procedure would specify the schools’ system of work, the start and end times of the school, the teacher’s characteristics, duties and rights, the duration of the academic year and general provisions for schools and teachers.

The rules of procedure ban the teacher to use physical and psychological violence, while they are entitled to 15 days' leave throughout the academic year. The duration of the academic year is set at 4 months per semester, and the rules of procedure prevent the use of schools for purposes contrary to the educational process.
