She took Arab medicine as career to support family

Refugees and displaced persons in Al-Hol camp suffer from poor physical conditions and lack of food, due to the inaction of the international organizations and food aid workers, only the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in al-Jazeera canton meet their needs, forcing many women living in Al-Hol camp to work to support their families

Mesad Khalif, of Iraqi origin 60 years old, have 6 children, she had been displaced to Rojava- North Syria, during the control of IS mercenaries of Salah al-Din province.

On a visit of ANHA agency, met with mother, Misad Khalif, and we knew why she had to work despite her old age.

"I am making medicinal herbs to treat many of the diseases that appear among the refugees in the camp. I learned this profession from my mother and my grandmother, who practiced it in Iraq," she said.

She pointed out that she was forced to work due to the poor living conditions inside the camp, and the shortage of food provided by the organizations because they do not meet the needs of her large family.

She noted that she mixes several herbs with each other and makes medicine for many cases that resort to Arab medicine such as "women's cases, infertility and high temperatures in children, and sometimes I treat some cases in several steps so that the disease will disappear permanently."

At the end of her speech, the mother appealed to all organizations working in the field of relief to provide adequate assistance to displaced people and refugees.
