The livestock is considered the second sector in al-Raqqa city after the agriculture, where most of the rural people work alongside agriculture to raise livestock in general, especially sheep, which are widespread in al-Raqqa countrysides

Animal Wealth's Committee provides licenses to veterinarians in al-Raqqa and its suburbs and provides advice to breeders of cattle, sheep and other animals. However, the weakness of the committee's resources may lead to the deterioration of livestock in al-Raqqa and its countryside due to the high prices of fodder and the lack of veterinary medicines to combat diseases affecting cattle.

Due to the siege imposed against al-Raqqa people, livestock farmers were forced to sell their livestock as a result of the high prices of fodders in general and the lack of veterinary medicines. IS opening roads in front of livestock smugglers to Iraq, it encouraged sheep traders to pass cattle bought from al-Raqqa's markets to be sold in Iraq.

At the present time, livestock farmers bitterly suffer in various ways, where the severe shortage of fodder materials, the high prices of livestock, the deterioration of livestock prices, and the decline in livestock. This is due to the decline in agriculture, because agriculture and livestock are essential for the livelihood of rural people.

As for fish wealth, the committee needs monitoring points along the Euphrates River to prevent overfishing and the arrest of all those trying to catch with electric lighters, license and number all boats, as well as form an association of fishermen to organize and train them according to the right rules of fishing.

Member of the Animal Wealth Committee Khadija Al-Abdullah said, "Cows in al-Raqqa city are not producing milk as in the past because of the lack of necessary vaccines for cows. We seek to secure the necessary vaccines. Khadija appealed to all animal support organizations to support the livestock farmers in al- Raqqa.

The Animal Wealth Committee seeks to preserve the livestock in al-Raqqa despite its lack of potential and the committee's development of a future plan and the needs of the Animal Wealth Committee.

Following a comprehensive census of the livestock in the administrative areas belonging to al-Raqqa Civil Council, the committee seeks to establish a veterinary clinic equipped with all the requirements in addition to a pharmacy and a laboratory that includes all medical analysis, and activate the centers and veterinary units of al-Raqqa Civil Council, artificial insemination center for cows, and the division of vaccines and epidemiology, veterinary quarantine at the council's crossings.
