KCK: Support Ocalan, work against isolation is way to defeat fascism

The Joint Presidency of the Kurdish Community Union (KCK) issued on Sunday a statement to the public opinion and said that the Turkish state has imposed strict isolation on the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan since April 5, 2015.

The statement said:

"Since July 27, 2011, Ocalan's lawyers have not been allowed to visit him, and in 2016, after pressure, his brother was allowed to visit him for a short time. Not only Ocalan, but also other three revolutionaries’ lawyers are not allowed to visit them. This isolation violates all the international charters, and the Turkish state drafted a special law for one person so that it puts Ocalan in isolation.

The way you get closer to the leader of a people indicates that you approach the entire people. The isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan is the isolation on the entire Kurdish people. The war that broke out on July 24, 2015 began on April 5, 2015. It is therefore a struggle against the isolation and a struggle against the fascist policies.

Getting closer to the leader is at the same time getting closer to the democratic forces because the leader brought the Kurdish people and the democratic forces together. The fascist and occupying forces work against him with great hatred. In this context, the isolation imposed on the leader is the isolation on all democratic forces. The democratic, socialist and revolutionary forces must know that if they do not support the leader, and if they do not put pressure on isolation in Imrali, the democratic struggle in Turkey will not be within the right path. The enmity practiced by the authoritarian forces over the leader highlights this fact.

The struggle is not limited to the Kurds only. The Turkish state threatens and says that if you approach the Kurds and deal with them, we will put pressure on you, and it says, "If you put pressure on isolation, we will put pressure on you and you will be damaged.” If the revolutionary and democratic people get affected by these threats, they will turn away from their beliefs that they believe in. This position must be turned into a support to the leader of the Kurdish people. The struggle against the isolation on the leader will be a more meaningful. All women in Turkey must lead this struggle because the thought and philosophy of the leader made the women of Turkey stronger.

Human Rights organizations, Ocalan's lawyers, family, the officials of the Democratic Peoples’ Party (HDP) and the revolutionary organizations, the Kurdish Women's Movement and many other institutions have made the isolation a challenge. At a time when the fascist forces made the Kurds and the values ​​of the Kurds a target, they put the situation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan which is a sensitive issue for the Kurds in the forefront, while the leader is under attack, and there is no information about his health and security situation. Anti-Torture Organization (CPT) and the European Union are responsible for this, as they legitimate through their positions the pressure put on the Kurdish people, and they consider the isolation and pressure in Imrali normal.

Whatsoever Anti-Torture Organization (CPT) intervened in the situation of the detainees around the world, it does not act for the leader Ocalan’s situation which means that the area and the European Union accept the genocide practiced by the Turkish state against the Kurdish people through isolation. The word "silence" means acceptance, and this applies to the area and the European Union. The Turkish state uses special methods against the detainees in Imrali. Anti-Torture Organization and the European Union, when the issue is the Kurds, forget their principles and do not do their duty.

On this basis, we appeal to escalate the struggle against fascism, and all democratic forces and the Kurdish people to revolt against isolation, and on this basis the struggle would be given greater meaning."
