The People of Afrin, an invincible Will

The people of Afrin who have taken the principles of the communes' system as a basis for their daily lives since the outbreak of Rojava's Revolution have been able to establish a cooperative spirit among themselves. That step has played a prominent role in confronting the recurrent assails by the Turkish occupation army and its terrorist mercenaries during the Resistance of the  Common Era and a major role in easing the suffering of the siege on Afrin in 2014 and beyond.

Afrin people have managed to re-establish the organizational structure of the communes and have so far formed 35 communes.

The communes have sought to provide shelter for the people working according to the requirements of the stage. They have been providing shelter and other basic requirements being present on the ground among their displaced people  exchanging discussions about the dirty plot connived against Afrin.

In this context, residents of each area identified their needs according to the number of communes، electing co-chairs, in addition to the formation of committees and the identification of its members.Thereupon, the following committees have been formed: "Services Committee, Relief Distribution Committee, Bread Distribution Committee, Reconciliation Committee in addition to Health, Visitations , Census Training, Women and  Protection Committees

These committees were able to activate their role.Each committee is interested in its own affairs acting through teamwork and the involvement of people around the clock.

The most important committees that played a role in organizing and raising the awareness of the residents were the Services Committee, which sought to secure water and electricity through coordinating with the People's Municipality, listening to the problems of the people and solving the problem of sanitation suffered by most of the villages in al-Shahba area.

The reconciliation committee resolves all the problems that arise between the people, whether in camps or in villages and towns, by peaceful means.

The Visitation Committee goes out to every village on a daily basis visiting the homes of all the displaced people from Afrin currently living in al-Shahba area.

The visits are raising of spirits and morale of the people, and explaining the political developments as well as raising the awareness of the people as to be alert not affected by the Special Warfare  propaganda carried out by the Turkish occupation.

In this connection, Khadija Ibbo, a member of communes, talked about the events of the past seven years ever since the commune were formed from the people of Afrin Canton. She  stressed that the communes have been runnig the affairs of people, and added: "We relied on the same system of the communes, which was able therby to protect displaced people of Afrin suffering in al-Shahba area.
