Afrin Intellectuals' pencils, books present at the second book exhibition

The second book exhibition, which holds the name of Martyr Hergul will continue at Zana Hall in Qamişlo city.

The exhibition includes many institutions and publication houses such as: Kurdish Writers Union - Syria, Afrin Intellectuals Union, Dar Al-Takwin, Culture and Art Body, Sormi Magazine, Manbij Intellectuals Union, Kobani Intellectuals Union, al-Tabqa Intellectuals Union, al-Jazeera Intellectuals Union, Dar al-Zaman, leader Abdullah Ocalan's Library "Democratic Nation", Manissa Library, Kurdistan Book Union of Syria, Saleh Haidu, Şopdarên Rojê Center, Independent Writers, Syriac Cultural Committee, Dar Şilêr, Democratic Community Academy, the exhibition also featured books in Arabic, Kurdish, Turkish and Syriac languages.

The department of Afrin Intellectuals Union was the most attractive in the book exhibition, that as is known, Afrin is occupied by the Turkish state and its mercenaries who commit the most heinous crimes and violations against the city and its people, the people of Afrin continue to resist in al-Shahba, and because of these circumstances, Afrin's writers were not able to participate in the exhibition, but their department in the exhibition is not empty, and the spirit of their productions has been conveyed to the readers.

The books varied between novels, poems, books in language, dictionaries, and research in Arabic and Kurdish.

It is worth mentioning that this is the first time the writers of Afrin had have a section in the exhibition. The intellectuals and writers who exhibited their works in the exhibition live in al-Shahba and Afrin, and because of the lack of resources they could not attend the exhibition.

A member of the Arts Committee at Rojava Kurdistan, Nariman Afdaki, oversees the Afrin Intellectuals Union. She explained that the opening of this section is a support for Afrin. "We did not want to keep the section of Afrin Intellectuals Union empty and show their place in the book exhibition," she said.

"The writer Marwan Barakat is still in Afrin and does not want to get out of it, he did not attend, but his books reached the readers," she said.

Readers are interested in the section of Afrin Intellectuals Union

"When the readers see the placard of Afrin Intellectual Union, they ask me whether I am from Afrin, readers are interested in Afrin intellectuals’ productions, we can say that what influenced most the readers was Afrin’s section.”

War is not an obstacle to writers and intellectuals

She pointed to the resistance of Afrin in the face of all attacks, as well as the resistance of its writers and intellectuals who followed their work and insisted on sending their products until they reached us. "The supervision of Afrin Intellectuals Union gives me strength and high morale.

Even though the writers are not able to attend, their spirit is present at the exhibition, the spirit of Afrin is present in this section, I hope that their department will be bigger next year and will be honored by themselves. "
