Deaths’ number increasing, hundreds need treatment in al-Shahba

The Kurdish Red Crescent’s health committees continue their duties towards the people despite the limited potentials through the opening of Avrin Hospital and some health points in the areas and districts of al-Shahba canton.
 
Because of the siege imposed on al-Shahba canton, health committees are unable to enter the medical materials and equipment to treat the patients or take them out of the canton which increases the risk of raising the number of deaths.
 
According to the administratoror in Avrin Hospital in Fafin district in al-Shahba canton Mohammed Shikho, a large number of Afrin people went to al-Shahba as a result of the Turkish aggression and the massacres committed against civilians.
 
He added, "We are facing many difficulties because of the siege that we are suffering from in al-Shahba canton as we do not have the ability to treat many cases of illness, and unfortunately they end with death because treatment is beyond our medical capabilities because of lack of medicines."
 
Shikho also said, "We need to get a lot of patients out to receive the necessary treatment. We have 30 patients with cancer who need doses as soon as possible, 27 tuberculosis patients, seven patients with thalassemia and 450 patients who are waiting to be approved to go to the places where the demanded treatments are available."
 
At the end of his speech, Sheikho appealed to all human rights organizations to come to al-Shahba canton, see the situation and suffering of Afrin residents in the canton and help them to reduce the situations of death and treat them.
 
It is worth mentioning that the inability to treat and lack of medicines caused the loss of the child Beiram Dada 1-year-old, Salah Ibrahim who is 45 years old, Salah Mohammed who is 56 years old, Mariam Abdo, 15-year-old and the young Mahmoud Mamo who is 20 years old for their lives.
