People of al-Jazeera region: Turkey is greatest threat to our stability

Rojava Center for Strategic Studies conducted an opinion poll for the people of al-Jazeera region about the Turkish occupation of Afrin canton and about the dangers facing the Syrian north and the readiness of the people to preserve the gains of the revolution of July 19.

The survey which was conducted through the questionnaire, included all components of al-Jazeera region from the various components in the region "Kurd, Arab, Syriac and Assyrian", and all levels of education and even illiterates, including persons  of 18 years old and above.

The center conducted its questionnaire in most of the cities and districts of the region, which are, "Qamishlo, Gerkê  Legê, Dêrik, Terba Spiyê, Çelagha, Tel Koçer, Amouda, Darbasiya, Serê Kaniyê, al-Hasaka, Tel Tamar, Tal Berak and al-Hool, the distribution of samples according to sex was in percentage is 31.3% for females and 68.8% for males.

  The questions on which the questionnaire was based are what threaten your security and your decision? Where the Turkish state achieved the largest result of the responses and according to their opinion is a threat to the people more than IS and Jabhat al-Nasra and the Baathist regime, where the proportion of the option of the Turkish state is  75.4%

And the readiness of the people to defend their areas through the second question where the answer Yes is the highest rate where it got 96.8% and to meet the national and humanitarian duty towards our people in Afrin and suffering from the massacres of the Turkish state and its mercenaries ,the people of al-Jazeera has confirmed that they are ready to support every effort (as 57% financial support) and the others received military support and participated in demonstrations.

Rojava Center's member  for Strategic Studies, Berîvan Seydo, said during a meeting with the ANHA Agency that they had surveyed the people' opinions in a questionnaire to identify the threat that parents think is a danger to their lives and stability. And to support Afrin people amid  suffering they are living as a result of forcing them to leave their homes.

Berîvan noted that they are at Rojava Center for Strategic Studies and after counting the results of the questionnaire they communicate the views of the people to the competent authorities.

In her turn, the member of the questionnaire department, Mizgîn Ahmed, confirmed that they conducted the process of sorting out opinions by hand and electronic methods after the questionnaire lasted one and a half months of work.
