"Abu Kebei" plant will produce asphalt soon to pave al-Tabqa, al-Raqqa's roads

Efforts are under way to activate the above-mentioned area, located in Abi Kebei area in the eastern countryside of al-Tabqa city, about 40 km away.

To take into consideration, the activation of the plant dates back to about two months, when the first experimental batch of asphalt came out on 23 May, 2018, which was used to repair some roads in al-Tabqa city.

It is expected two electricity generators ranging from 200 to 300 amps to supply to the plant as an alternative solution to provide sufficient electricity to operate it.

"We seek to pave the way between al-Raqqa and al Tabqa by the asphalt after five years of continuous neglect during the takeover of the area IS mercenaries gangs," said Mwaiad Abdul Rahman, the administrator of Abi Kebie plant.

He added: "We hope this project to continue, especially after we made sure that the plant is in good condition where the reservoirs and mixers all work according to the required standards and under the supervision of more than 20 workers with long-standing experience in this phase."

"After a month from now, it will be in the service of the citizens in both al-Tabqa and al-Raqqa with all the required mechanisms for the asphalting process," he concluded.

It is worth noting that the area has been suffering for a long time from deterioration in the road services where there are drilling and bumps along al-Tabqa- al-Raqqa's highway.
