Fatima Konili, a 23-year-old Arab student, is a student at the Faculty of Pedagogy at the University of Aleppo, she grew up in an environment dominated by customs and traditions that restrict the lives of young people of her generation and they have to think a thousand times before expressing their opinion on a topic or participation in an event.

With the control of the National Coalition’s mercenaries in the eastern neighborhoods, the situation has worsened and the restrictions imposed on the lives of the people, especially women, have been tightened by rules and laws that ignore the presence of women in society under the guise of religion, so she had gone with her family to al-Shieh Maksoud and live there.

In al-Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood, Fatima was attracted to the activities of the institutions and the ideas of the democratic nation, the youth and the women's associations that affirm the existence of women and life together, drawn in different languages, culture, and religions that did not exist in the dictionary of the society in which they grew up, so she found that the freedom path form all the constraints that marginalized women in life is imminent.

At first Fatima had difficulty convincing her family to participate in these activities, but she managed to convince her family and was able to work with all her efforts, which increased the strength of her personality and played a pioneer role in leading her community so that her family welcomed the step of that daughter.

Fatima chose to work in the young group, after a period of organizational work and her knowledge of the goal of the youth center, she took the position of managing the center of Rojava Youth League in al-Sheikh Maksoud, hoping to contribute to spreading awareness and organizational thinking among young people, where she found that the work on organizing the new generation and stimulating them on the collective and cooperation action among them is the way to reach a society free from the diseases that have abandoned the racial segregation and discrimination between the components of the area.

The principles of co-existence reinforce the status of women

Fatima Konili stressed that after the learning of the ideas and principles of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the concepts of co-existence within the community and the family, she learned more about the meaning of social life, and how it can spare society falling into the abyss that was about to fall.

"Before I joined the young group, I was watching them from a distance not realizing the true sense that lies behind their work, but their respect for each other and the reciprocal relationship between every girl and young man attracted me so much to be among them, the idea of ​​youth and the principles of co-existence reinforce women's place, which are new to us.” She said.

Fatima also added, "I have been in Rojava Youth Federation to organize youth in society to avoid deviation and to guide them to success through awareness lectures and practical training to serve the community.

At the end of her speech, the administrator of the Youth Union of Rojava in al-Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood Fatima Konili addressed all the young people and stimulated them to continue their work and spread awareness in order to reach a conscious and moral society.
