Summer courses in Aleppo to improve level of primary school students

To improve the educational capacity of primary school students, the members of the training committee in the democratic Society in al-Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood in Aleppo suggested during their regular meetings the issue of raising the scientific level and moral awareness of those interested or affected by the displacement state in various Syrian areas by opening school doors during the summer holidays.

The committee worked on preparing its cadres, in addition to printing the papers to disseminate the circular to all the children of the neighborhood in addition to preparing the classrooms.

The first day of the session began on Sunday, 24 June 2018, which is scheduled to end on 24 August 2018.

This move has received a response from the residents, where the number of students enrolled so far has reached 800, and has opened more than 17 departments from the first grade to the sixth grade.

Study plans and mechanism

For the study plans, the committee allocated five lessons, five basic subjects are taught (Kurdish, Arabic, English, mathematics, and ethics’ culture.)

Asma Muhammad stressed that the aim of opening schools on holidays is to create a conscious generation and help them overcome the academic thresholds they have received as a result of the war in the area, noting that this course is an opportunity for students.

As for the content of the ethics’ culture, Asma pointed out that it is a material derived from the good deeds advocated by the heavenly religions such as food etiquette and talk, as well as the importance of training and dealing with society in accordance with the principles of ethics.

At the end of her speech, she wished that the generation would rise to the best, so that it would be ready for the new session and the new curriculum.
