Al-Raqqa people receive their first Eid after liberation with joy

On October 20/ 2017, Syrian Democratic Forces had liberated al-Raqqa city from IS mercenaries completely, after the liberation, thousands of al-Raqqa people have returned to the city.

Today, life is re-emerging within its streets and neighborhoods after the return of its people, the return is still ongoing.

With the advent of Eid al-Fitr, which will be the first holiday to celebrate the freedom after the liberation of the city from Daesh, where the nights of al-Raqqa city are witnessing, especially the busy and lively markets which made its night shining as a result of shopping within the market to buy the holiday supplies and the security provided by the Internal Security Forces over the 24 hours and electricity’s return to almost the whole city.

A taxi driver from al-Raqqa named Saleh al-Ali said, "We returned to al-Raqqa and we got rid of IS mercenaries, thank God, today, life is back to the city."

"The atmosphere of the Eid is flourishing again in the markets, this is Tal Abyiad street, despite the destruction, the shops have returned to open and the people are shopping with all the comfort of the forces that protect the city," said Fatima al-Hasan.

"I am very happy because we returned to our city after two years of displacement and we will celebrate the Eid without the presence of Daesh," said the girl Reem Abdu al-Abeid.
