MSD urged organizations to focus on health sector in Deir ez-Zor

Elham Ahmed called on the organizations working in the north of Syria to increase their works in the liberated areas from IS mercenaries, stressing the need to provide assistance and activate health support centers in Deir ez-Zor.

This came during a meeting held by the Development and Humanitarian Affairs Office in the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) for all organizations working in the north of Syria to discuss the works that were carried out.

The meeting was attended by the co-chair of MSD Elham Ahmed, the co-chairs of the Development and Humanitarian Affairs Office Zouzan Alloush, and Abdel Kader Muwahed, the member of the Presidential Body of MSD Jihad Omer, and representatives of all organizations working in the north of Syria.

The participants discussed all the works and projects that were carried out by the organizations in May of this year, and the obstacles that delayed their work such as the presence of mines and the security situation in Deir ez-Zor area.

The participants focused on the ways of supporting the citizens and displaced people in the areas liberated by the forces of SDF in Deir ez-Zor from the health side such as supporting the health centers, and from the service side; water, bread and others.

The co-chair of MSD Elham Ahmed stressed the need to provide support to Deir ez-Zor area which suffers from a shortage in the health sector because the area has recently liberated and its infrastructure was destroyed.

The meeting ended with promises given by the medical organizations that are working in the north of Syria by providing more support to the health sector in Deir ez-Zor.
