Kobanî bid farewell to artist Ahmed Dabo

The artistic community in Kobanî bid farewell to the famous popular artist at the level of the area Ahmed Dabo, nicknamed Del Bajan Kendash, leaving behind a procession of art that will remain in the memory of the area.

Del Bajan Kendash died after suffering from a conflict with hepatitis in the hospitals of Bakur Kurdistan, aged 50 years as he was buried in Tremek cemetery after his corpse arrived on Monday morning to Kobanî coming from Bakur Kurdistan through the crossing border of Pinnar Murshed.

But the Turkish authorities at the crossing border did not allow the family of the deceased to cross into Kobanî city and participate in the burial ceremony.

The departed artist has worked in the field of art since he was a young man; he also had a shop of manufacturing musical instruments, and he was famous for his ancient folkloric songs.

The ceremony was attended by a number of artists and residents of Kobanî as a number of artists delivered speeches praising all efforts made by the late artist to develop the Kurdish art and revive the special ancient popular heritage.
