Maintenance and restoration work has begun since almost 3 months, by the removal of debris and the remnants of repeated air strikes by the regime's flight that was exposed to the center in the first occupation period by the so-called "Free Army's mercenaries, followed by ISIS occupation period, 3 years and turning them into a center of inquiry, torture and detention for the innocent residents of the area, and then move to the initial work including the installation of doors and windows and works on alternative roofs and paint.

Currently the installation of external steel doors for the protection of the center has been completed in addition to the preparing of 10 offices inside the building and the completion of the installation of doors and windows and the initial works of paint.

The works of the main and internal plumbing and electrical works have been completed until the completion of the painting work and the completion of the remaining electrical and lighting works.

In the first phase, a stage was also partially equipped to host cultural events instead of the main one which occupies the south-east corner of the center, which was completely destroyed due to the regime's air strike targeting the building until it was processed within the second phase of the rehabilitation of the center.

In this context, the Director of Public Relations in the Culture and Art Committee, Muthanna Abdul Karim, said that the opening of the cultural center planned for mid-June will be accompanied by many events, including a sculpture exhibition.
