Schools in Sherawa, al-Shahba to be opened by June

Educational process has been ceased in Afrin canton in coincidence with Turkish occupation army and terrorist gangs’ attacks on the canton in January 20, where thousands of students at different grades have been deprived of completing their studying for the second term.

Having headed towards al-Shahba, the Democratic Society’s Education Committee worked on reopening the schools in all the districts and villages in al-Shahba and Sherawa district.

The committee have estimated the number of students in al-Shahba and Sherawa district in preparation for appointing teachers and opening schools, according to the statistics, 25 thousand students live there, based on this, 1,000 teachers have been appointed to teach beginning at June 3.

In this context, Shervan Hamo, an administrator in the Democratic Society’s Education Committee, stated “Education is a fundamental basis and corner stone in the community, despite the poor possibilities, we will work on assuring a bright future for students by helping them resume their studying, whatever the circumstances were difficult, we hope all people send their children to schools.”

Hamo appealed to all the humanitarian and UNICEF organizations to provide support for students and meet morale and material requirements.
