Efforts of al-Tabqa's Agriculture Directorate to support livestock

The preliminary census of livestock and poultry follows the directives of the Agriculture Directorate of the Economic Committee of the Democratic Civil Administration of al-Tabqa to determine the number of livestock in the entire eastern countryside of al-Tabqa extending from al-Safsaf farm to the east of the al-Sehel area in the east.

The department of the Agriculture Directorate in the eastern countryside of al-Tabqa estimated the number of cattle with about 30 thousand sheep, goats and cows distributed on the fields and farms surrounding al-Mansoura town.

The Agriculture Directorate has launched this initiative in an effort to conduct an integrated census on the number and types of livestock in al-Tabqa area.

The Directorate seeks to provide the breeders' requirements of this wealth of fodder, medicines and veterinary centers serving the area.

During the occupation of IS mercenaries, this wealth, which is one of the pillars supporting the economy of the area, has been neglected, it also covers the needs of the local market for fresh meat at reasonable prices, which provides self-sufficiency away from chilled meat imported from or through Turkey, which may violate recognized health conditions for the preservation of such food.

The Agriculture Directorate in al-Tabqa area is currently directing the farmers to grow the gravy classified within the good fodder crops to complete the food service locally.

The Agriculture Directorate also carries out similar census work in the northern and north-western areas of al-Tabqa city and for the same purpose.

It is noteworthy that Syria, including al-Tabqa area is characterized by the existence of types of global quality of livestock, such as al-Awas sheep (Naimi) and al-Shami goat.
