Women: pioneer in the traffic police as well

When Daesh mercenaries and the Baathist regime were occupying Ain Issa, only the man could work in institutions and particularly, the traffic police where women were denied a position among her comrades.

After liberating Ain Issa district by the Syrian Democratic Forces, women could undertake their pioneer role in all service institutions where many women-related ones were opened.

One of the institutions that women managed to play a pioneer role in is the traffic police field, which was opened in August, 2017, at first, 4 women worked as traffic policewoman after finishing their training, they start work at 08:00 till 16:00 where women formed points within the district to organize traffic through the district.

In addition to the points within the city, in each village, there are points for the traffic police; their work includes section like “archives, press, administration, and many others”. A member of the traffic police, Bayan Issa said “After the Syrian Democratic Forces have liberated many areas and districts, life has come back to them, people now are enjoying life freely, women in particular after deprivation of freedom and suffering from the reactionary mindset.”

Bayan noted that she joined the traffic police to serve people, organize them and solve their problems, she added “I appeal to all women who are still captives at home to demand their rights and work on serving their country and people.”
