Leader: Al-Jazeera Tempest liberated 21 km, continues east of Euphrates

During an interview conducted by Hawar news agency with the leader of Deir ez-Zor Military Council Ismail Abdullah, he confirmed that Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to purge the Syrian-Iraqi border of IS mercenaries, in coordination with the Iraqi army and the international alliance.

Abdullah said that since the resumption of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign in the last phase, which began on the first of May, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed to clear most of 21 kilometers on the Syrian-Iraqi border from IS mercenaries.

"After Syrian Democratic Forces arrived in Bagouz village, all the areas controlled by IS mercenaries were trapped and pushed east of Euphrates River," said the leader of Deir ez-Zor Military Council Ismail Abdullah, Bagouz village is of strategic importance, the village is the main gateway to enter the hybrid area, the last point of concentration of IS mercenaries on the Syrian-Iraqi border and east of the Euphrates.

On coordination between SDF and Iraqi forces the leader of Deir ez-Zor Military Council said "Syrian Democratic Forces and the Iraqi army are advancing along the border in a coordinated manner and the border is monitored between the parties while the points are placed on the border in direct coordination to avoid any sudden attacks on border areas.

At the end of his speech, the leader of Deir ez-Zor military council Ismail Abdullah said that al-Jazeera Tempest campaign will continue until the liberation of all the areas controlled by IS mercenaries east of the Euphrates River and on the Syrian-Iraqi border completely.
