Refugees: we cannot return to our homes due to shelling, war in our areas

Al-Mahkan village's people belonging to Deir-ez-Zor countryside said that large areas of our village were destroyed by haphazard shelling of the Syrian regime and Russian forces which caused massive destruction, stressing that they cannot return to home due to the clashes and shelling in their areas.

Abo Khashab camp located in the northern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, hundreds of the people Deir-ez-Zor and countryside living in the camp who have been forced due to the clashes between the Syrian and Russian regimes and their allies on the one hand, and the gangs amid continued shelling of their areas

Hawar news agency (ANHA) explored views of the people staying in the camp about return to the village.

Abdel Sattar al-Sayyid from al-Makhan village belonging to Deir-ez-Zor countryside saying "we have been displaced as a result of the ongoing clashes and shelling by the Syrian and Russian regimes on our areas. We cannot return to our homes today because of shelling and clashes, and we prefer to stay in areas protected by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)."

Citizen Ahmed Saleh who is still being treated for shrapnel from the shelling of the Syrian regime said "We have been shelled indiscriminately by the scourge and all kinds of torture. Where and how do we return to our homes, which have become a battlefield?

Adnan al-Ali from al-Mahkan village also said: "The war destroyed everything, and we were left with no shelter. We have no choice but to be displaced from our homes. This is why we intended the areas that the Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) protection because they are the safest areas in all of Syria. So we will not return until this bloody conflict ends."
