Economice stiuation in Aleppo city affected by occupation of Afrin

Afrin city is considered of the most important Syrian regions economically compared to its strategic location separating the villages of Aleppo Eastern, Western and northern and located on the Syrian-Turkish border, as well as a safe area for six years and a shelter for tens of thousands of displaced, which means increased labor and the capital that moved to it, Afrin is a prosperous economic situation compared to its neighbor from the western and eastern countryside of Aleppo.

After the Turkish occupation of Afrin rich land and crops, cut all the trade routes leading to Aleppo city and the depth of the Syrian, which warned of a large rise in prices for many of the material and foremost agricultural crops and industries of various kinds, where Afrin contains more than two thousand workshops and workshops of different sewing Textiles and food.

The effects of the occupation of Afrin by the Turkish army have become clear to the popular reality in the Syrian city of Aleppo, with the rising prices and the emergence of popular discontent towards it, it is known that the objectives of the occupation of Afrin is not confined to its geography only, but ambitions outside the borders of Afrin and reach Aleppo.

Hawar news agency(ANHA)  interviewed with Salah Osman, the owner of the wholesale food store confirmed that the occupation of Afrin by Turkey and its mercenaries negatively affected to Aleppo city where the goods brought them 80% of Afrin and at a lower price after the deterioration of the situation in Syria.

Afrin was the most safe area in terms of food and basic foodstuffs, because Afrin was safer in comparison with Syrian cities, and at a lower price than other cities. For example, laurel soap was only sold at 150 SP, Now, after our break from Afrin, the price of the piece is 200 SYP and is not available in the market, and this is losing customers' confidence in us because we believe in our requests from other distant cities.

Mohamed Ali Khalil, the owner of a detergent shop, also pointed to high prices, which reflected negatively on the market movement after the occupation of Turkey and its mercenaries to Afrin area

He said that Afrin was the largest city produced in Syria since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis and the displacement of the population of Syria at the hands of armed  gangs supported by external forces. Afrin exported these goods produced to all the cities of Syria and regional countries despite the imposition of the siege by mercenaries.
